So far in September

We took a wonderful vacation to Rocking Horse Ranch Resort with the original Torres gang. One day I will get a photo of all 3 making eye contact, minus robot Joey eyes. promise.

Had a moment of weakness in our adventures of Baby Led Weaning, turns out spoons are even better teethers with green slime on them

Eddie, Joey and I attended the candlelight memorial service for the 10th anniversary of 9/11

how I wish this was in focus

I have been attempting some photoshopping and had a play with black and white. It's all sorts of wrong, but I love it.

I woke up and found my toddler had become a little girl

The littlest T is now a pro at sitting

and is the proud owner of two little teeth.

And the clock keeps ticking

no matter how many times I beg it to slow down. Joey is now 6 months old.

He can sit

and got his first bite of food

We will continue with Baby Led Weaning just as we did with CJ, but Joey proved he isn't ready for solids and we are A-OK with that :)

Here is some more info on introducing solids (and why it is important to wait until AT LEAST 6 months of age) and Baby Led Weaning.

World Breastfeeding Week

This week marks my second World Breastfeeding Week with a nursling of my own. While that in itself is something I cherish I was blessed with an amazing opportunity today, the fact that it fell in the midst of WBW makes it all the more dear. After battling oversupply my entire breastfeeding "career", countless blocked ducts and mastitis thrice I was able to turn that excess milk over to a sweet little girl a month younger then my current nursling! What an amazing feeling.

I did not ask for permission to share any personal information about the recipient but I must tell you how much I admire her for making the choice to provide breastmilk for her baby girl even though her body could not. What an amazing mama! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of that journey.

75ozs of mama milk

Now in good old Torres fashion we decided to have some fun with WBW! While pregnant I saw this awesome cartoon that inspired some knitting and provided our daily dose of fun.

the cartoon ...

and our mama made booby hat!

never too old to rock the booby hat

T is for Thursday

I confess that these photos are from LAST Thursday. While getting dressed and singing our "Days of the Week" Aiden made notice that "T is for Thursday and T is for Thomas". Both he and CJ had chosen their "Day out with Thomas" tees and Mommy chose to roll with it ...

*will someone kindly tell me WHY my 2 year old insists on making kissy faces at the camera?

The "T" books they chose

T is for testing, and a Terrific wake-up number after all the lows we have been battling :)

T is for turtles and toast

T is for torture, what big brothers do best

and T is for tower

of course we couldn't leave Joey out, Aiden chose Mater "You know mommy? Tu-Mater?"

T is for Teething. As I write this we can feel the edges of Joey's first two teeth!

T is for Tea Party

T is for Transmitter, a replacement one that is.

T is for TURKEY!

T is for Thumbkin

and T is for the "Ten Commandments"

ahh the musings of a housewife
